How it works

What is a molded dashboard cover?

A molded dashboard cover is a rigid shell shaped to match the top of your dashboard. It fits over the dashboard you already have, so the cracks and sun damage underneath are hidden from view.

Your original dashboard stays in the vehicle. The cover simply sits on top of it, following its shape around the vents, the instrument area and the edges.

Not every dashboard qualifies

Covers are made for specific dashboard designs. Availability depends on your vehicle, and the dashboard has to be in a condition where a cover will sit properly. That is why we check first.

Before we confirm that a cover is available and book the installation, we look at two things:

  1. Your vehicleYour year, make and model tell us whether a cover is made for your dashboard design.
  2. Your dashboard's conditionPhotos of the dashboard show us the damage, so we can tell whether a cover is the right fix.

What to send us: your vehicle's year, make and model, plus a few clear photos of the dashboard, taken straight on and from the passenger side.

Installation overview

  1. Inspect and cleanWe look over the dashboard and clean the surface so the cover can sit properly.
  2. Test-fit the coverWe place the cover and check how it lines up with the vents, defroster area, sensors and edges.
  3. Secure it in placeOnce the fit is right, the cover is secured to the dashboard.
  4. Final checkWe check the finished fit and make sure vents and controls are clear before you drive away.

Dashboard cover FAQs

Is my old dashboard removed?

No. A molded cover fits over your existing dashboard. The original dashboard stays in place underneath.

Is a cover available for my vehicle?

It depends on your year, make, model and dashboard design. Send us those details and a few dashboard photos, and we will check availability before confirming anything.

Will it hide the cracks?

The cover goes over the top surface of the dashboard, so cracks and fading there are covered. We look at your photos first to make sure a cover is the right fix for the damage.

Is a molded cover the same as a dash mat?

No. A dash mat is a soft fabric or carpet piece laid on top of the dashboard. A molded cover is a rigid shell shaped to match the dashboard itself.

Do you work on trucks as well as cars?

Yes. We install dashboard covers on cars and trucks, depending on cover availability for the vehicle.

What colors can I choose?

Color options depend on what is available for your vehicle. We will tell you the choices when we confirm availability.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

Both depend on your vehicle and the cover. Once we have checked your vehicle and availability, we explain the cost and the appointment time before you approve the work.
